Crystal Reiki  Healing

“Reiki” (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘universal life energy, and is also a word used to describe a system of natural healing, This tradition was founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication.

We live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. When this energy flows uninterrupted there is balance and harmony within and around us, and we experience a sense of well being.

Reiki enhances the body both emotionally and spiritually.
It is a process that anyone can enjoy in the normal course of their life, and is a tradition that is open to any belief system. Reiki can be used alongside other conventional or complementary treatment and often helps to provide additional support during recovery.

As a crystal therapist I work with crystals, gemstones and minerals in several ways within the practice of Reiki to amplify and accelerate the self-healing processes within the individual. It is considered that these healing processes are initiated with a harmonious interface between the particular and unique vibrational structure of crystalline matter within the mineral kingdom and the biomagnetic energy patterns comprising the human being.
Crystal therapy directs attention to the subtle levels of functioning to
re-establish a more harmonious and integrated vibration.
I approach each person uniquely, effectively working on many levels, whether the discomfort/symptoms are perceived as physical, emotional, mental or spiritual in origin, using chakra stones to release, cleanse, energise and balance the flow of energies within the body, thereby inducing an enhanced state of wellbeing.

The method of receiving Reiki is simple. The recipient remains clothed and lies on a couch or sits on a chair and relaxes. The practitioner gently places their hands in a series of non-intrusive positions on or near the body. There is no massage or manipulation. The whole person is treated rather than specific areas. Sessions are typically 45 minutes long, but can be arranged for extended periods if required, depending on the client’s needs.

Reiki practitioners are not trained in diagnosis and will not predict any specific outcome from treatment. If people are concerned about their symptoms they should see a doctor.

What do Reiki treatments feel like?
Each person experiences Reiki differently depending on their individual needs at the time.

Clients may or may not feel sensations during a Reiki treatment. Benefits reported by recipients include deep relaxation promoting a calm, peaceful sense of well being on all levels. Some people feel sensations of heat, tingling, or experience seeing colours, whilst others can have an emotional response, indicating that shifts are taking place, allowing equilibrium to be restored.

What do Reiki treatments do?
Reiki is a safe and soothing treatment that can be:

~ Comforting when life is tough
The relaxing nature of Reiki can be very helpful to people especially at difficult times in our lives. We can all feel overwhelmed or disconnected, sometimes there is a real sense of isolation, both emotionally and spiritually. Reiki treatments can bring feelings of peace, centeredness and an ability to cope better with the challenges of life.

Reiki can be beneficial in circumstances that are short term, but can also support people dealing with long-standing conditions, helping to bring comfort, acceptance and a more positive outlook.

~ Supportive during pregnancy
Reiki can be wonderful for pregnant women. Treatments can be very relaxing and enjoyable for the mother.

~ Calming for children
Children usually love Reiki. The length of a session is often shorter than it would be for an adult.

~ Reassuring for animals
Animals also respond well to Reiki, they too seem to find it relaxing and soothing

~ Helpful at the end of life
In such cases Reiki can be a great comfort, helping to promote a sense of peace and acceptance for the dying and their families.

How much Reiki would I need?
A single session may be sufficient, however for long standing emotional or spiritual issues, a series of sessions may be beneficial. In general if you find that helpful changes are taking place, it is a good idea to continue treatment.

The session is concluded with a tea of choice.

THAI YOGA MASSAGE

A full body massage performed on a padded mat on the floor. This massage consists of Yoga-based stretches, and is received fully clothed (please wear loose comfortable clothing).

It incorporates pressure along energy lines, and the conscious use of rhythmic breathing.

Thai Yoga Massage is effective in reducing pain and in increasing mobility. It is both a relaxing and energising experience.

Ayurvedic Massage

Ayurveda - 'The Science of Life', massage being part of a complete system of self-care, including Yoga, Meditation and Nutrition.

An initial analysis is taken, to assess an individual's constitution (dosha), and specific warm oils are applied during each treatment, containing medicinal herbs, to invite healing, cleansing and balance.

Ayurvedic dosha-specific tea is given at the end of all treatments.

Shirobhyanga & Mukhabhyanga - Head/Neck/Shoulder/Face

A deeply therapeutic nourishing treatment, washing away tensions and revitalising the soul, to bring about equilibrium and clarity.
This treatment is good for stress, headaches and hair condition.

It is also a remedial therapy to lift facial muscles, leaving a vibrant glow. Beginning with a facial cleanse, followed by warm dosha specific oils being applied to the face, neck and shoulders, the massage movements stimulate collagen, energy and blood flow. This treatment is extremely calming, finishing with warm oil poured onto the forehead and massaged into the scalp.

Marma Abhyanga - Full Body
An ancient therapy combining pressure to specific marma (vital/reflex/energy/ pressure) points, and Yogic stretches. The massage manipulates healthy flow of energy through the body's junctions and pathways. Delivery is personalised according to your needs. This treatment is good for relaxation, detoxification, fatigue, anxiety, and nourishment for the skin.

Padabhyanga - Lower leg and foot
Beginning with a warm foot bath to cleanse, followed by a herbal scrub. Combining deeply therapeutic techniques to release energy blockages, improve circulation, vitality and restore tired calf muscles, tensions are eased and the body is energised, as the soles of the feet are nourished. This is great for mums-to-be, after a flight, and as maintenance to promote relaxation. The treatment finishes with hot towels and the application of a refreshing gel.

Pinda Sweda - Herbal Compress full body massage

Warmed oil is applied to the body using the bolus, using a variety of massage techniques. Extremely nourishing and rejuvenating, this treatment is ideal for sports enthusiasts, sore muscles and joint pain.
