Arriving at a particularly chaotic point in life some years ago, and feeling somewhat depleted by it’s mental and physical effects, I turned to Yoga. Noticing how much better I was feeling, I wanted to learn more, and the more I learned and experienced, the more I wanted to share.
Similarly, after several years of working with children and of fundraising as an ambassador for Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough, and supporting from afar Tilinanu Orphanage in Malawi, I found myself both loving the positive impact of Yoga on my own life, and also wishing to work more closely with the children I was raising funds for.
Without knowing quite where my path would lead, I trusted this sense of inner guidance, took a leap of faith, and retrained in Yoga for Children, Teenagers and Special Needs.
My personal curiosity and interest around Yoga and Wellbeing was growing, and for my own development, I continued this learning journey, training in Ashtanga Yoga, Yin Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, White Shell Shamanic Yoga, Hot Yoga, Mindfulness and Qigong.
I began to teach Yoga classes and workshops at various locations across the county; Bridge4 Health Studio in Birstall, Leicester City Football Club, Sunita Passi at the Engine Yard, Belvoir Castle, Balance Yoga Studio in Sileby and Hotpod Yoga in Leicester, and Ragdale Hall Spa.
During this time, I had begun to volunteer at the Glebe House project for Special Needs Children and Adults in Loughborough. Before long, I was invited to teach at Homefield College, and soon after, at Aspire Lifeskills Learning Centre, and at Ashmount School in Loughborough.
Simultaneously drawn toward a variety of deep healing tools, I studied and practised to become a Master Reiki Trainer, an instructor of Gentle Touch Reflexology for Babies and Children, and a practitioner of Gong, Ayurvedic Massage, Indian Head Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, Crystal Healing and Access Consciousness. I am pleased to be continuing my holistic journey, developing my knowledge and experience by training in Chinese Medicine for Yoga and in Clinical Aromatherapy, and by furthering my skills, enjoyment and interest in music, voice and sound, as I test TablaTom's patience in my gradual learning journey of the Harmonium and Dholak instruments.
I also continue to support the wonderful work of the Tilinanu and Love Support Unite charities in Malawi.
I am so delighted to be sharing my new nurturing studio space for enhanced wellness practices at Sakura Yoga and Wellbeing in Old Dalby. Here, I will be focussing upon assisting friends, families and local community in finding increased joy and harmony, through the weaving of Yogic principles into their daily life.
Finally, after several years of research and development, teaching and practice, I am absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with BEAM Academy with the launch in early 2022 of our Teacher Training programme:
